Introduction to BBCode

What is BBCode?

BBCode was first introduced in 1998 by the messageboard software Ultimate Bulletin Board (UBB).

This is the type of coding we use in this forum. Some sites use BBCode rather than HTML, since, I believe, BBCode is much easier and clearer than HTML.

Parts of a Tag
[example]
The ones at the sides are the brackets and the "example" is the keyword. "/" is added before the keyword, indicating where the code should stop.

Using BBCode in Forums
In FM-hosted forums, they use a tab where they place the buttons to "glamour up" your content. It is placed above the SCEditor. I do not how they do it in other forums, since I use FM.

Getting to Know Common Codes
The most common used codes are the easiest to use. Some used the start of a single word. Here is the list of commonly used tags. Please note that in FM forums they use the tag [strike] for strike through.

Understanding BBCode
As we went further and further, we will understand BBCode. It is very simple. Most people and sites prefer BBCode than HTML, despite the fact that they're very similar.

Lesson Two:

Colors

HTML Color Codes Format
Each HTML color code has the symbol "#" teens nowadays use for hashtags, along with 6 numbers and/or letters. The pair of 2 numbers or/and letters belong to the hexadecimal numeral system. As an example, 255 or the most intense is FF in the hexadecimal numeral system, the least or 0 is 00.

Meaning of These Symbols
The 6 symbols after "#" has each meaning. It's decided into three pairs. The first two symbols indicates how much red is put into the code; the third and fourth for the green; and the last two symbols for blue.

Common Color Codes

Red = #FF0000
Green = #00FF00
Blue = #0000FF
Black = #000000
White = #FFFFFF
Yellow = FFFF00

BBCode for Using Colors
The BBCode for using colors is simple and isn't complicated. You can either use

Code:: [color=#Colorcode][/color]
or
[color=COLORNAME][/color]

Assignment
Without using the color palette, use the color gold in two ways.

Like previously said, 00 is the least color and FF is the greatest. They work in a way like this:
